DevOps Engineer - Chennai

We are looking for a Azure DevOps Engineer to join our Technology team in Chennai

Bright-River provides Visual Content services to the larger e-commerce and retail companies around the world. Our 2D and CGI visual experts deliver product visual content daily using our in-house developed platform and applications. Our Business Technology team is a dedicated team of engineers and developers working on our application stack and platform. We are spread across our offices in Chennai, Netherlands, New York and Bangladesh.

Technical and Professional Expertise:

• 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer.
• Expert knowledge on Microsoft Azure Cloud.

• Expertise in implementing CI/CD technology using Gitlab, Azure DevOps ,Octopus, Jenkins.

• Expert knowledge in containerization tools(e.g.: Docker) and container orchestration tools(e.g.: Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge in RDBMS. Preferably MS SQL server. NOSQL experience is a plus.

• Strong knowledge in Infrastructure-as-code solutions like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and others.

• Strong Knowledge in Configuration Management tools like Chef/Puppet/Ansible.

• Expertise in building automated testing pipelines.
• Strong knowledge in using JIRA
• Good level of python programming with hands on experience.
• Strong knowledge in distributed systems and applications.
• Strong knowledge in Azure functions ( In Python ) and bonus if hands on experience in Azure durable functions.

• Ability to understand both functional and nonfunctional requirements.
• Write resilient, scalable and easy to maintain code.
• You understand network security concepts, IP, TCP, UDP, SSL/TLS protocols, and how you can keep things secure
• Fluent in English

Few chores you either own or contribute towards:

• Using outstanding DevOps skills, you contribute to the deployment and operations of our in-house applications. The applications are used daily by our Bright River colleagues and our customers.
• You will own daily operations of Azure and AWS based resources like K8s and API gateway. 
• Design, build, and optimise application containerisation and orchestration using Kubernetes technology
• Improving and supporting our CI /CD, development, and production environments.
• Creation and monitoring of application metrics to ensure optimum service availability and uptime
• Automation of development, testing, and release processes
• Identify and troubleshoot performance and stability issues; assist the development team in troubleshooting production issues
• Work with developers to influence design, development, and deployment for reliability and scalability
• Our teams work with Agile methodologies like Scrum and KanBan.
• You feel the ownership of the code you develop. You will build, own and run the applications with your team.
• DevOps mindset: Applying your DevOps skills to find the right balance between delivery speed and quality. Our aim is to automate everything and deliver on a continuous basis with a high level of quality.
• You will be doing some out of hours shift work as part of a team rotation
