We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Technology team in Chennai


What we do:

Bright-River provides Visual Content services to the larger e-commerce and retail companies around the world. Our 2D and CGI visual experts deliver product visual content daily using our in-house developed platform and applications. Our Business Technology team is a dedicated team of engineers and developers working on our application stack and platform. We are spread across our offices in Chennai, Netherlands, New York and Bangladesh.

Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, Software test engineer or Test manager.
  • Ability to understand both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Strong Knowledge in Software QA Methodologies, Tools & Processes, ability to build a new QA environment.
  • Experience in writing Clear, Concise & Comprehensive test plans, test cases, performance or security testing.
  • Proven work experience in test automation tools as well as manual testing.
  • Experience automating tests within cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs or web services using tools like Postman or Rest Assured.
  • Solid understanding of test automation frameworks. Experience in designing and maintaining frameworks is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of MSSQL DB testing, SPA Web applications, API and backend technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum development processes
  • Knowledge on Microsoft Azure Cloud will be added bonus
  • Knowledge in implementing CI/CD technology using Gitlab, Azure DevOps ,Octopus, Jenkins.
  • Fluent in English

  • Using outstanding QA and testing skills, you contribute to the deployment and operations of our in-house applications. The applications are used daily by our Bright River colleagues and our customers.

  • You will take ownership of leading the quality of an assigned project and its features.

  • Prepare detailed٫ comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

  • Review requirements٫ specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

  • Plan and coordinate testing activities٫ thoroughly identifying and documenting bugs

  • Build and execute automation scripts using open source tools

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. developers, operations and product owner) to identify system requirements

  • You advocate the QA best practices and have an automation mindset to assist shaping our practices in the region for the future

  • Track quality assurance metrics٫ like defect densities and open defect counts

  • Analyse the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions

  • Maintain relevant knowledge about new testing tools and test strategies

  • Our teams work with Agile methodologies like Scrum and KanBan.

  • DevOps mindset: Applying your DevOps skills to find the right balance between delivery speed and quality. Our aim is to automate everything and deliver on a continuous basis with a high level of quality.
