Job description

To help us grow our expanding international client list even faster, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join the Sales & Marketing team in Haarlem, the Netherlands.

Your mission

To drive sales growth by identifying and qualifying new leads, conducting product demonstrations, and effectively managing the sales pipeline. As our new Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be key in understanding market needs and collaborating across teams to improve our sales strategies


Your responsibilities

  • Outbound Lead Development: Identify and qualify new outbound leads by following our Account-Based Marketing (ABM) principles, including online research, cold outreach, and overseeing the progress of leads through the sales funnel.

  • Inbound Lead Follow-Up: To convert inbound leads into commercial opportunities and oversee the conversion of these opportunities into new paying accounts in a joint effort with relevant colleagues.

  • Product Demonstrations: Conduct online demos to showcase Bright River Solutions' value and features to potential clients.

  • Sales Pipeline Management: Utilize CRM software (Hubspot & Salesforce) to track interactions, notes, and follow-ups with potential clients.

  • Win new business deals: Use consultative Selling techniques to close new business deals

  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from prospects and clients to inform product enhancements and sales strategies.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, Sales/Account Management, Product, and Customer Success teams to streamline efforts and share insights.

  • Relationship building: Good communicator and able to build trusted client relationships.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about product updates, industry trends, and competitive analysis

Job requirements

Your skillset

  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence.

  • A passion for selling, thick-skinned and ambitious with a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to identify and qualify leads effectively.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales pipeline management.

  • Skillful in conducting engaging product/solution demonstrations.

  • Capable of gathering and interpreting feedback.

  • Collaborative mindset to work with various teams.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends.


Your foundation

  • Relevant experience in sales or business development, preferably in a FashionTech, Retail, or E-commerce environment.

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in client-contacting roles

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree

  • Fascinated by new disruptive innovations and passionate about selling groundbreaking ideas and products in a fast-paced environment.

  • Multilingual skills, including Native / Bilingual Proficiency in English. Any other relevant languages, based on market needs, are a big plus.

  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.

  • Strong understanding of sales processes and lead qualification.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • A valid working permit for either the EU or the US
